MTPD District II Substation and Training Facility
This project consists of two buildings, a 24,000 SF police substation and a 30,000 SF training facility which includes a 24 lane indoor shooting range. The building was completed and occupied in the Fall of 2014. The Design/Build project has received a LEED Gold certification which includes a 30% energy reduction from the LEED baseline.
The design includes layover rooms, locker rooms, defensive training room, gym, evidence storage, secure vehicle bay, crime scene work area, armory shop, armory vault, ammunition storage, break rooms, roll call rooms, training rooms and offices. The design of the shooting range includes a bullet collection system and a hazard waste collection system for the floor cleaning unit.
